IMAGE.ie interiors columnist Vogue Williams on what she's buying for the family this Christmas, from soft bedding to cashmere scarves.
It’s Christmas! One of my favourite times of the year and probably the first time I have ever had all of my Christmas shopping done before December. Am I smug about it? Yes, I most definitely am but if you haven’t started your shopping fear not, I am going to show you what I have bought for the family this year.
We always do Secret Santa in my family but I do buy my parents gifts too. I got my sister-in-law and luckily she left a wish list that included a bracelet from my pal Joanne’s range with One Dame Lane which is a gorgeous jewellery shop in Ireland. I also got her a light pair of gold hoops from them.
I love sheets and I have an obsession with my bed being as comfortable as humanly possible so I like to give the gift of a good sleep! I got my aunt some beautiful sheets from an Irish company called White and Green. I bought some for my house years ago and they are still super soft. They are also having a great sale on their site this December. I think sales should be before the 26th of December so we can all get a good deal on our pressies!
Men are the worst people on earth to buy gifts for! I always find it so hard but this year I got such a gorgeous gift for my stepdad from another Irish brand called The Little Finery. I got him a personalised cashmere scarf and although it wasn’t cheap I know he will love it and have it forever. I also bought my gorgeous mother-in-law a cashmere robe from them.
I always love a gift of homeware from people, I am obsessed! Dunnes Stores always have gorgeous pieces and my go-to is the LNH Edit, I bought a Christmas set of plates from them a couple of years ago so I want to add to my table this year. I love the napkins because I feel like you could still use them all year round.
