Zara’s new limited edition collection is all of our 00’s dreams come true
Before fast fashion truly came into play, the early 00’s was a haven of iconic pieces. Between the Dior saddle bags and diamanté cami tops, minimalism was born, with beautifully crafted silhouettes in muted tones, paving the way for thousands of Instagram accounts and the lauded old Celiné in years to come.
Zara rarely releases capsule collections or collaborations. Unlike high street counterparts like H&M, whose limited edition collections are the highlight of fans’ calendars, Zara focuses more on a steady stream of wearable pieces throughout seasons.
Until now. Zara’s new Archive collection draws pieces from iconic collections from years gone by, spanning the late 90’s and early 00’s. Pieces have been re-editing and reimagined, but with all the same quality and flair of their original counterparts.
Knitted dresses, leather trousers, camel coats, wool-blend shirts – all as at home in a 2020 wardrobe as they were when they first became popular decades ago. It’s hard to believe how closely trends come back into fashion but the pieces in this collection could be straight out of our over-exposed digital camera snaps from the early 2000’s.
