Introducing Behind the Seams with Courtney Smith, showcasing Irish fashion around the world

IMAGE.ie and Samsung are delighted to join Courtney Smith on her mini-series ‘Behind the Seams’, where she meets Ireland’s brightest sparks in the world of fashion, to shine a light on the vast spectrum of opportunities in fashion and what it takes to truly make it.

Have you ever thought about a career in the fashion industry, but didn’t have a clue where to start? We always hear, especially in Ireland, that the fashion industry is a small, unreliable place to gain experience and a dream job. But stylist and creative director Courtney Smith has proved that to be false. Amassing over 55,000 followers on Instagram and working with some of the biggest labels and publications in the world, Courtney has used her creative talent to grow a space in Irish fashion that works — and now, she wants to show you how to do the same.

In her new mini-series Behind the Seams, Courtney travels around Ireland (and the world) to delve into the vast spectrum of opportunities that are available in the fashion world, and how Ireland’s brightest sparks have made their mark across the industry. From styling to publishing to design to photography, Courtney is on a mission to showcase the amazing work that Irish fashion has to offer, and to show viewers how they can be inspired to start their own career in the fashion industry.

Episode 1 kicks off with Designers, with Courtney finding out what it takes to build a brand from the ground up and showcase your creative talent to the world of design. She travels to London and New York to see how Irish design has spread across the world, and is joined by Irish design powerhouses Natalie B.Coleman; Don O’Neill; Orlagh & Henrietta of RIXO; Colin Horgan and Katie Ann McGuigan to talk about where creativity and business collide, and how to make it in the competitive world of fashion design.
